Monster Tajima 2007 Pikes Peak Champion
Congratulations Monster on breaking the 13 year Pikes Peak record!
Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima has again become the "King of the Mountain" in the Pikes Peak hill climb. Monster Tajima, the founder of the Monster Sports brand of performance parts for Suzuki vehicles, also took out the event in 2006 and 3 previous overall wins dating back to 1992.
Monter's 2007 win was particularly special, breaking a 13 year record by 3 seconds with a time of 10 minutes and 1.408. However, Tajima is not satisfied with the time and will be back next year to break the 10 minute record.
Obviously to break these records, Monster Tajima requires a special vehicle and through his development with Monster Sports he certainly has the vehicle to succeed. The Suzuki Sport V6 Vitara/Escudo Pikes Peak special features a 3.6L engine with twin turbo's and reportedly generates over 1000hp with amazing response.
